It’s not often I wake up, check my emails and find a release that is potentially going to blow my mind, but that is just what the new 7″ from Sydney based punk band Those Things! has done. ‘Blurred Visions‘ features 10 minutes of an absolute onslaught of fast punk rock tunes, drawing influence from bands like The Bronx and Perth’s Chainsaw Hookers with catchy ‘rock n roll’ riffs and fast raspy vocals.

From the moment you hit play you know what you are in for with the opening track ‘Salt Tooth‘ not leaving anything to the imagination and making you feel like you’ve just been punched in the face in the best way possible. In true punk fashion the tracks barely reach over three minutes individually and they don’t need to. Those Things! deliver everything you could possibly want out of this type of record and in a short amount of time.

Even though it doesn’t take long to reach the end of the release, the final track ‘Lettin’ It Go‘ is worth sticking around for with its 70’s style surfer riffs making you feel like you’ve jumped in a punk rock time machine. This release is definitely setting a standard for the new wave of punk rock bands that are floating about.

Have a listen yourself below and if you dig it, get onto Those Things! Bandcamp Page, buy it and head bang in the car with your mum to it.
