It’s that time of year folks, Cherry Rock is back in it’s 8th year! And as always will be held at the city of Melbourne’s most cherished rock venue, The Cherry Bar!

Out of dusty Arizona, Meat Puppets will be bringing their legendary live show to the shores of Australia for the first time in over twenty years.  With 15 studio albums, and a career spanning over 30 years, they’ve played a major role in influencing bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden and Dinosaur Jr. Their blend of grunge, cowpunk and neo-psychedelia are sure to make this festival unmissable.

Cherry Rock boasts a huge line-up of 13 bands, performing over 2 stages, and will feature the likes of Melbourne power-duo King of The North, the low-down ‘Juke Joint Party Ass Blues‘ of Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk, New Zealand’s sludge metal powerhouse Beastwars, as well as Drunk Mums, Bitter Sweet Kicks and many more.

This year the festival has adopted the motto, ‘This could be the last time, maybe the last time, I don’t know…‘ – a line borrowed from a little number by the Rolling Stones, titled ‘The Last Time’.

Unfortunately, the future of the Cherry Rock festival may be under threat. It’s a classic case of new residents moving into the area – this time the apartments overlooking AC/DC Lane. So make sure you get down to Cherry Rock 2014, as it may well be their last.

The festival hits little Melbourne town on 25th March, starting from 12 noon and running through until 9:30 pm. Tickets are available from the Cherry Bar website.
