Sydney three-piece Fait Accompli have been circulating amongst Sydney’s indie rock circles for around six years now. Existing on the fringe of genres and on the cusp of pigeon holes, they possess a unique sound which the band suggests is best described as ‘soul punk’. Boasting a serious DIY work ethic, Fait Accompli are utterly self-made in every sense of the word.
All three members have founded creative entities independently of their Fait Accompli musical endeavors. Drummer Skarlett Saramore runs depression awareness and suicide prevention initiative Less Than Strength, vocalist Ray also fronts Sydney-based music blog My Sydney Riot and bassist Mr Stokes mans indie label Make Yourself Records.

Under the Fait Accompli banner, this ambitious trio have built a strong reputation on the back of their numerous progressive releases ranging from 2007’s debut It IsWhat It Is EP through to FBi Radio favourite No Fool (single) and current release Spieswhich is due to be released on July 20.

Recorded with Dylan Adams at Mr Millk studio in Sydney, Spies reveals a tighter, stronger sounding Fait Accompli than previous efforts, a twist sure to surprise existing fans and lure in a stack of new ones.

Fait Accompli are famous for their energetic ‘last-show-on-earth’ live performances, and the band plan to take no prisoners as they tour extensively on the back of the EP’s imminent release.

Having already hit the Central & North Coast, Fait Accompli tour West Australia this week before Spies is launched officially at The Annandale on Friday July 20 with Chicks Who Love Guns, Udays Tiger, Bang Bang! Rock’n’Roll. A Melbourne launch has been scheduled for early August (details TBA)
