The Mung are definitely not your everyday metal band. Taking out all of the seriousness that seems to be associate with grindcore bands these days, The Mung are out to have a good time and bring a few laughs to venues with their songs about not so normal topics. The band have been fast growing their fan base since the release of The Splatter Sessions last year, and this year have released yet another killer album. ‘Early 2010, two friends got stoned in a cute little house in Doncaster-East one Sunday afternoon.
The world would never be the same, as Satan himself possessed the two innocent souls and his incantation shat out the early demo’s of what would soon become… The Mung.
Named after the urban legend which depicts a sexual initiaion involving two blokes, a corpse, and a belly full of dead female entrails, the two strapping young lads got accomplises and took the sweet sounds of yuck into the studio.’The Splatter Sessions’ (tracked at Goatsound Studios with Jason Fuller – Blood Duster/Captain Cleanoff) was picked up to German based Grind label Rotten Roll Rex and nation wide touring commenced soon thereafter,

Songs about toilet mishaps, drugs and getting tender with all walks of life earned The Mung a status shy of platinum sales, but through the common share of that dream to come into fruition, four hands riffed, two hands, two feet drummed, and a throat splattrered it’s footprint unto the unfortunate punters and listeners abroad.
With the lineup having a slight tweak to allow more touring, and activity as a unit, the deviants tracked a DIY session over the celebrations of the holy, and the chocolate in easter 2011.
SHOWERING IN SHIT is the middle finger to spending money, conforming, or following current ideals in music… and so The Mung hit the road in 2012 to tour the release nationally in attempt to impress people, score some free buds along the way, and drink a lot of beer in other peoples homes.’
